Kenny Penn was raised in South Florida, United States. After graduating high school, he attended Broward Community College for a couple short semesters with aspirations of becoming an architect. Soon after, his first child was born, so Kenny dropped out of college for a while. He worked full time at a call center, where he soon developed a passion for Information Technology. A few years later, he moved to North Carolina with his child and went back to college. He eventually received a Masters in Information Technology Management. Kenny has a wife, three children, and lives happily with his family in the Triad Area.
Kenny learned writing at an early age. His mom instilled a love of reading and writing from an early age. His dad taught him to love what you do and to do it right. He’s written several stories and was halfway through a novel when his laptop was stolen from his apartment. After that, Kenny’s writing career slowed down considerably, giving only half hearted attempts at novel and story writing. It wasn’t until after he received his Masters that Kenny decided to really dedicate his time to the craft again. He took an online publishing course and met several other writers who loved his work. Since then, he’s been writing his butt off.
In 2022, Kenny became a member at Vocal.Media, a site dedicated to giving amateur writers voices. He loves writing competitive pieces, both for vocal and others. He publishes them to Vocal.Media post competition. They continue receiving high praise from readers and judges alike. In 2023, Kenny’s short story titled, “The Elmoar Tree”, made the Final Cut for Vocal Media’s annual awards, placing in the top six for Fantasy stories.
Kenny completed his first novel, “Mississippi Wizards”, during NaNoWriMo in 2022. In 2024, he continues writing short stories and is working on the next novel, hopefully a bestseller!
